Trial By Fire is an optional quest that can be obtained by talking to McBurn in the Battle Arena after beating the Ningen, Demon, or Dimensional Cups.
Objective[]
McBurn challenges you to a trial of surviving against his onslaught for 30 seconds. You can begin the challenge at any time by speaking to him, but you only get one chance.
Surviving against McBurn is not hard, but do not underestimate him. Attacking him is pointless as he slowly loses HP automatically over the course of the time limit and any damage dealt to him by you only serves to make his Fire damage more painful due to his Gathering Heat effect. Instead, play keep away and choose a job with good defensive capabilities such as the Squire or Chemist, or Priest and heal with X-Potions if necessary.

If you survive for 30 seconds, McBurn congratulates you on completing the quest.
WARNING: If all players in the arena die, however, he expresses his disappointment and the quest is failed. You also will not meet him again in this case.

- prerequisite for Blazing Demon if either Dark Ifrit or Dark Phoenix are still alive.
