The Archer is a Tier 2 Warrior Job whose primary attribute is Agility. She is described as a master at making every single shot count.

Getting Archer to Level 8 unlocks the Thief job and it is a requirement to unlock Geomancer job. Getting Archer to Level 15 is a requirement for unlocking the Holy Swordsman job.

Abilities[]

Innate: Blind Spot[]

The Archer's attacks deal 25% increased damage if the enemy is struck by an allied melee unit in between hits.

Blind Spot applies to any of Archer's physical damage, be it a normal attack or a technique. Blind Spot will only trigger if an Archer has attacked the enemy at least once already. Any allied melee unit can trigger Blind Spot, be it a summoned companion, another player, or an NPC; only their normal attacks will, however, techs and spells do not.

In multiplayer, multiple Archers do not have individual Blind Spot triggers, they will instead clash and consume each other's Blind Spot bonus, so beware.

Q: Rapid Fire[]

Bow Technique

Rapidly fires 16 fiery arrows which explode on hit, damaging the target as well as surrounding enemies. Costs 80/100/120/140/160 MP. Has 25/24/23/22/21 seconds cooldown.

By default, Rapid Fire does Fire-elemental damage. By equipping particular Arrows, its element will change.

The graphic of the fired arrows also changes in accordance. Note that the Geomancer's Enchantment or equipping any elemental weapons will NOT change Rapid Fire's element, only equipping these specific arrows will.

Rapid Fire can be interrupted at any time during its channel through direct orders or the hero being stunned, cancelling the remaining arrow shots.

W: Arrowwave[]

Bow Technique

Shoots a flurry of arrows in all directions, dealing moderate damage to all nearby enemies. Costs 60/80/100/120/140 MP. Has 15/14,5/14/13,5/13 seconds cooldown.

E: Animal Companion[]

Calls forth an animal companion that draws power from its master. The companion stays with you permanently, but if you call an additional one, the original will die after 40 seconds. Costs 150/200/250/300/350 MP. Has 20 seconds cooldown.

R: Aim[]

The hero takes time to aim their shots more carefully, increasing accuracy and dealing an extra 20% + 150/200/250/300/350 bonus damage with attacks and techs, but attacking 30%/36%/42%/48%/54% slower and taking 30% increased damage. Costs 60/80/100/120/140 MP. Lasts 20 seconds. Has 25 seconds cooldown.

The damage bonus of Aim applies before any Arrows damage bonuses. It applies to both normal attacks and techs and is calculated at the time of damage infliction, so using it even after a technique is no problem, and conversely, if Aim expires while a technique is ongoing, the damage bonus will be gone with it immediately.

Aim increases accuracy by 40, to be precise. This accuracy bonus affects both physical attacks and magic.

Ultimate: Myriad Arrows[]

Bow Technique

Shoots countless arrows up in the sky, having them rain down into the target area over the next 5/5,5/6 seconds, dealing heavy physical damage to all enemies within. Costs 200/300/400 MP. Has 120 seconds cooldown.

Myriad Arrows hits once every 0.25 seconds, so it hits 20 times at Level 1, each level up increases the number of total hits by 2, until Master level brings it up to 36 hits.

Legendary Mastery[]

The Legendary Master representative of the Archer in Elysium is Nevius.

Special Task: Hit enemy Blind Spots 60 times in the duration of a single Aim.

Getting Archer to Legendary Master is required to be able to use the Celestial Bow, the Sagittarius.

Strategy and Builds[]

Spells to Swap[]

Once you've mastered the Archer you can change one of the spells to something from a different class you've mastered using the tower beside Mae'chen. Typically switching to Death Screech or Sharp Eye will give an Archer the greatest offensive power, though in certain cases Drain Attack is a great spell to pair with Sleipnir to sustain through a fight. If using an elemental Arrow, obtaining the Technical damage buff is extremely desirable (Molotov Shot with Tempest Arrows against Dark Dragons as an example)

Solo Play[]

Archer's are excellent damage dealers and have the advantage of being able to deal a few types of elemental damage through the use of Arrows. Where an Archer can feel lacking is in tanking some of the heavier hitters of the mid and late game, though there are a few ways to alleviate this. In certain fights, the Archer shines brilliantly and decimates her foes. However, she is not suited for every fight in solo and should be used when appropriate.

ALWAYS carry a Tome of the Breaker as well as a Tome of Strength in your Spirit of Gaya in Solo gameplay in order to maximize your damage against bosses that would otherwise give you difficulty.

Team Play[]

In a party, an Archer's role is simple: pure DPS. Switching spells to Blessing of Might or Death Screech is essential, as well as wearing the most offensively geared items available. However, an Archer is not always the best choice if a Tank is not available in the party's lineup.

A special mention is required for an underrated aspect of an Archer: She is likely the best at fighting mobs in the Dark Dragon Marsh with Tempest Arrows and helping others gain levels with a Flag of Competition. An Archer with any method of sustain (potions, Drain Attack, Last Stand) will be able to carry even a large party through the Dark Dragon Marsh and help other players quickly gain levels, especially through Firefly.

Equipment[]

Archer almost always dons the best equipment available to her, with the variety coming in mainly through arrow and accessory choice. Elemental arrows with the matching elemental orb is always a strong combination, though Force of Nature ought to be considered for a more defensive approach. If not using an elemental arrow, items like Iron Duke, Hidden Hero Medicine, and Sleipnir stand out as the best all around items for an Archer; special mention is required for Rabite's Foot, as it can single handedly help take down opponents that would otherwise be very difficult to hit.
